Create a Conditional Document

Set up the automatic generation of a document.

This feature automatically triggers the creation of a document based on the answers provided for one or more variables.

It can be used to generate several contractual documents automatically, one after another. This ensures that all the required documents are produced together and can then be sent for signature as a single group.

Example: If an answer in the questionnaire used to generate the first document indicates that personal data will be processed, the author is automatically prompted to complete and generate the associated DPA template.

To use this feature, you must first create a grouped template.

  1. Create a grouped template.

  2. Open If… Then.

  3. Click Doc, then Set Up a Conditional Document.

  4. Select the variable or variables that will trigger the document.

  5. Select the template to be launched.

  6. Select Templates Can Be Changed in Writer if you want users to be able to choose which documents are generated automatically.

Multiple Conditions and Multiple Documents

When several templates may be triggered, all their triggering conditions must be grouped into a single If… Then rule rather than creating a separate rule for each template. Each possible combination of answers must be associated with the appropriate templates.

Example: To generate the appendices corresponding to the guarantees selected in the questionnaire, the rule could be configured as follows:

If all the following conditions are met:

  • Personal guarantee = Yes

  • Bill guarantee = Yes

  • Business assets pledged as security = Yes

  • Mortgage as security = Yes

  • Personal guarantee secured by a cash certificate = Yes

Then launch the following templates:

  • Appendix: Bill guarantee and joint and several personal guarantee

  • Appendix: Pledge over business assets

  • Appendix: Mortgage

  • Appendix: Personal guarantee secured by a pledged cash certificate

The other possible combinations of answers and the corresponding templates must then be added to the same rule. The more guarantees that can be combined, the more scenarios need to be configured.
